Stories / Activism - Oak Institute

Capturing fellows’ work through film gives viewers a new perspective on fellows’ individual stories and on greater themes of human rights.

Telling the story of activism, diversity, and social justice at Colby is an important starting point. If we recognize those who have made change and improved our College, it will encourage others to follow in their footsteps.

The Oak Institute’s annual theme for the academic year of 2020-21 was Borders and Human Rights. We sought to explore many aspects of the intersection of borders and human rights, including immigration, refugees, militarization, colonialism, imperialism, indigenous rights, and free movement.
